The shy December sun lifted the spirits of the stone cutters in Puchishcha. In the sound of the chisels life felt right and simple; the atmosphere was filled with white dust and the sharp smell of young bodies hitting their daily production targets. The crisp winter air was vibrating with action and strength. Yet winter in Dalmatia was something else than winter in the Julian Alps along the river Isonzo.
